EKG-Heart Shocking

Last night was a long night. Chauncy woke up yesterday morning about 5 am and didn't feel the greatest but didn't think anything of it and went to work. he worked 12 hours then came home and was complaining he couldn't catch his breath and his heart felt funny. we got out the stethoscope and I even could tell that something wasn't right. So I told him to call Brother Burns (in our ward) who is a cardiologist and ask him if he would be willing to listen to you. Chauncy couldn't decide if he wanted to call him or just talk to him at church because it was 9:30 pm, well he decided to call him and he gladly agreed to listen to him. He went over and about 20 min later he came home and said we need to go to the hospital Bro Burns wants me to go get an EKG. So we called D2W (chauncy's unit) and they said they had a bed open and could do the EKG there. we faxed the results to Bro Burns and got on the road to go home. Well we got almost to the I19 which is about 1/2 way home and we get a call from D2W saying Bro Burns called and said we needed to go to the ER because he was in A-Fibrilation which means his heart wasn't beating right. so we got to the ER and they got us right in. they did another EKG and put us in an ER room. they did blood work to see if they could see why his heart was beating like that but everything came back normal. they could have givin him some chemicals to see if that would get it beating right but the Doc didn't like that idea because it doesn't always work so he gave us another option to use the Defibrillator to shock his heart for Cardio Version. Chauncy didn't want to do that because he knew it would hurt like crazy. but they said they put them under for about 10 min and shock him and then would wake up. so we decided to do that and do it right the 1st time because they said if they took baby steps it could go backwards instead of making it beat right. We got to the ER at 10 pm and they shocked him at 4:30 am. and everything went just and it should have. It was amazing I could even tell on the monitors that it was beating much much better. I went home at 5:30 and Slept for 2 hours and then Chauncy called at 7:30 saying he was ready to leave. which was surprising because at 1st they told us they would keep him for 24 hours after they used the defibrillator then they told us they would only keep him for 6 hours after well after all said and done they only kept him for 3 hours . we have to follow up with a cardiologist on Monday or Tuesday. I hope they can figure out why his heart did that. Thanks to Kelli and Andy (who just had a baby a week ago) kept our boys for us. I took Morgan but kept her covered up like crazy. It his hard when you don't have family around to help out. but thanks to good friends it worked out well.

he was saying how his cold sore hurts too.
Its no fun seeing your hubby like this
